- Bottleneck identification and elimination (1 hour)
B. PSE Toolbox
- Tools for mathematical modeling, performance analysis, continuous improvement, and bottleneck identification (0.5 hour)
- Exercises on mathematical modeling, performance analysis, continuous improvement, and bottleneck identification (1 hour)
C. Project/Lab
- Structural modeling of production systems of interest and their performance analysis (2 hours)
Day 2:
A. Theory
- Lean buffering design (1 hour)
- Closed lines (1 hour)
- Product quality (1 hour)
- Measurement-based management of production systems (0.5 hour)
- “Just right” operation (0.5 hour)
B. PSE Toolbox
- Tools for lean buffering design, closed lines analysis and improvement, and product quality investigation (0.5 hour)
- Exercises on lean buffer design, closed lines, and product quality (0.5 hour)
C. Project/Lab
- Improvement and re-design of production systems of interest and report preparation (3 hours)
