Project Management
About PM  • InstructorLocationRegistration

No matter what hat you wear, what kind of gadgets you make or sell, or which services you offer, managing projects is part of everyday life. A project can be as complex and time-consuming as a new building or as simple and quick as creating an end cap display. Regardless of scope, managing your projects well can make a difference for the bottom line.

PM 101’s thorough introduction to proven principles and techniques builds a project management (PM) skill set that leads to success. It’s a great place to begin learning the methodology to plan, execute, monitor progress, solve problems, and make the decisions necessary to reach your goals.

Three 2-day modules are scheduled one month apart to allow time for completion of a project between sessions.

Module One:
The Management of Project Management

    TBA

Module Two:
Planning for Successful Projects

    TBA

Module Three:
Keeping Projects on Track

    TBA

What’s the point?

  • increased profits
  • increased customer satisfaction
  • increased staff engagement

Why is it the best PM training available?
The PM 101 advantage is the real hands-on experience students take away. Using the principles and techniques taught, the class executes PM based on a case study. Participants also complete one project during each interval between modules, choosing an example drawn from their own circumstances.

Who will benefit?
Education, business, health care, manufacturing, government, agriculture—project management is almost universally applicable. Managers should consider it an essential component of their training, and anyone involved in the planning, execution, or support of projects will enhance their success.

What are those benefits?

  • Interview skills - determine customer needs
  • Planning skills - develop project schedule, budget, and resource needs
  • Monitoring skills - keep a project on track
  • Change management skills - smoothly respond to the unexpected

Decision making skills - always keep the customer’s business needs in the forefront. PM 101 students earn a certificate for completing the projects and passing an exam. Bonus - PM 101 is an excellent overview for those working towards earning the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification.
