Center Support Opportunities
The center has three missions: research, teaching, and service to industries.
This service mission is accomplished through outreach programs,
where the center assists companies in analyzing their manufacturing
processes, assisting in product design, building product prototypes,
presenting specialized workshops, and providing many other specialized
services. The center employs many students to assist in these programs.
Typically, these positions are not filled until the students come
to campus.
Additional funding from the Center may be available to support outstanding students to promote the strategic directions of the center. Such opportunities are primarily available to students who've chosen the thesis option.

Faculty Sponsored Research
Assistantships
The faculty involved in the Manufacturing Systems Engineering Program
have active research programs, with projects funded by industry
and government agencies. Faculty will hire research assistants to
work on these projects. Faculty will assign these assistantships
based on the current needs of their programs, the availability of
funds, and the capabilities of the individual students. Students
should contact faculty members directly
about the availability of these assistantships.
Graduate School Fellowships
The Graduate School of the University offers a limited number of
fellowships, usually on an academic year basis. These are typically
awarded based on recommendations from academic departments and are
highly competitive. Application forms are available from the Graduate
School and from their web site:
