Machining Dynamic Systems Laboratory

  • Workstation.  The finite element code ANSYS is available on the system, along with FORTRAN and C compilers, and the mathematics software package, MATLAB
  • MB Modal 50 electrodynamic shaker for exciting structures
  • PCB impact hammers for pulse excitation of structures. Accelerometers and other sensors for vibration measurement
  • 8 channel IOTECH data acquisition hardware
  • LabVIEW data analysis software
  • IOTECH hardware for standard analysis of vibration test measurements, such as transfer functions and time waveforms
  • Physik Instrumente Piezo-Translators and associated power supplies
  • Controls hardware from Innovative Integration for feedback control of voltages applied to Piezo-Translators
  • 4 feet by 6 feet testing bedplate
