The lean program was created as an industry-academic partnership initiated by Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky's president, Fujio Cho, in 1994 with the mission to systematically explore, study, and teach the workings of the Toyota Production system. The entire program draws on research into this extremely successful technology and for over a decade, we've been transferring our understanding of it into practical working strategies for every aspect of any business. The lean program's educational approach provides critical skill sets for leadership teams, management teams, and associates throughout the organization.

Lean Systems Certification
What is lean systems? Production requires three basic elements: man, machines, and material. Lean production is the technology or "know-how" to utilize these three basic elements effectively, reducing waste and increasing productivity while improving quality. Implementing lean production is a long process, often called a journey, requiring a multifaceted transformation encompassing your entire enterprise, from raw material to purchase by a customer.
