There is a maximum of one award presented in each category in any given year. It was presented in recognition of research successes in improving manufacturing processes.

1991 Westinghouse Science and Technology Center Outstanding Innovation Award.
One of eight awards presented for most innovative patents issued in 1990. Presented for US Patent No. 4,927,985 "Cryogenic Conductor."

1992 Fellow Member. Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
Awarded in recognition of outstanding service to the manufacturing profession. Usually no more than ten members are so honored in any given year.

1997 Honorary Consultant Professor, Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China.
Presented for expertise in materials processing.
